OVERVIEW
The Dunlop SP Sport 4000 DSST CTT is a performance and high performance, depending on the speed rating of the specific tire size, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This model also comes in touring tire sizes as well.
The tire is a run flat model. It was made with the Dunlop Self Supporting Technology, which reinforced the sidewall construction to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in case of air pressure loss. In case air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire can still be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. In this manner, the driver is not stranded on the side of the road, rather they can safely arrive to a nearby location where they can change or fix the damaged tire. Run flat tires are typically manufactured for vehicles without space for a spare tire. Run flat tires cannot be mounted together with regular tires on the same vehicle as their internal structure is heavier.
The Combined Tire Technology or CTT was also used to design this model. The technology optimizes the tire’s weight and offers a rounder cavity shape to improve its controllability. This allows the tire to closely follow the road surface and maintain its road contact at all times, which improves the performing capability, the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The constant road contact of the symmetric tread pattern enhances the steering response time and accuracy to the driver’s commands, while it stabilizes the structure against the driving pressure affecting the model. The lighter weight and optimal tire shape enable the tire’s high speed performing capability throughout the year. The increased controllability and better high speed performance ensure a secure driving experience.
The all season tire compound and detailed symmetric tread pattern boost the all weather traction. They increase the road gripping ability with the high-density siping detail which increases the number of biting edges maintaining a firm grip on the road surface. The compound keeps its flexible traction throughout the tire’s lifetime and promotes a secure all weather performing capability. The tread’s circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. In this manner, the tire guarantees a better road grip and a safer performance.
